Canadian Tire Is Not “Crappy Tire”
(GENEVA, Reuters) Canadian Tire Corporation lost a battle for a web page called crappytire.com.
A judge said Canadian Tire could not claim rights to the expression “Crappy Tire” because “Canadian” and “Crappy” do not have the same meaning.
The Canadian company had argued it was known locally as “Crappy Tire.”
This slang expression was reportedly derived from Canadian Tire trademarks.
