王子复仇记12—狼与狐狸-1

A wolf once made friends with a fox. The fox always attended to the wolf. The fox had to do as the wolf told him.

One day they were both passing through the woods, and the wolf said, "Red Fox, find me something to eat, or I will eat you."

"Well," answered the fox, "I know a farmyard. There are two young lambs there. If you like, I'll go and fetch one."

The wolf agreed with him, so the fox went to the farmyard and stole one of the two lambs. After he brought it to the wolf, he returned to the farmhouse to find something for himself.

The wolf soon ate up the lamb, but he was still hungry. He wanted to eat the other lamb, and he went to fetch it himself. But he didn't know how to steal the lamb. At last he was seen by the mother of the lamb. She began to cry and bleat fearfully, and the farmer came out to protect the lamb.

The wolf was beaten by the farmer. He ran howling away.

When he saw the fox a while later, he said, "You led me to a terrible place. I wanted the other lamb, and because I went to fetch it, the farmer nearly killed me."

"Why are you so greedy?" replied the fox.

从前有一只狼和一只狐狸交上了朋友。狐狸总是侍候那只狼。他必须照狼说的话做事。

有一天他俩经过树林的时候，狼对狐狸说：『红狐狸，去找一些东西来给我吃，要不然我就吃了你。』

狐狸回答：『好，我知道有一家农家庭院，那儿有两只小羊。如果你喜欢，我就去抓一只回来。』

狼同意了，所以狐狸便到那农家庭院去偷了其中一只小羊回来。他带给狼后，又回到农家去为自己找一些东西吃。

狼很快地吃掉小羊，但仍然觉得很饿。他还想吃另外一只小羊，便自己跑去抓。但是他不会偷羊。最后他被羊妈妈看见了。羊妈妈开始很害怕地咩咩叫起来，农夫就跑出来保护小羊。

农夫把狼痛打一顿，狼便嗥叫地落荒而逃。

不久，狼见到狐狸时对他说：『你把我带到了一个可怕的地方。我本来要吃另外一只小羊，我去抓它的时候，差点被那个农夫给宰了。』

狐狸回答说：『你为什幺要这幺贪心呢？』
