王子复仇记1—黄金雨

Once upon a time, there lived a poor little girl. Her father and mother were both dead, and the child was very poor.

She didn't have a room to live in. She didn't even have a bed to lie on.

In time all her clothes were worn out, and she never had anything to eat except a piece of bread. Still, she was good and pious. She was forsaken by all the world, but she believed that God would take care of her, and she went out into the fields and prayed to Him to help her.

When she was walking along the road, she met a poor man. He said to her, "Please give me something to eat, for I am very hungry."

Immediately she gave him all her bread and said, "Heaven has sent it to you." After he took it, she went away.

Soon she saw a little child sitting by the roadside. The child was crying. As she passed by, the child exclaimed, "Oh, my head is so cold. Please give me something to cover it."

Instantly the poor girl took off her own cap and gave it to the child. She went on and later she met another child. The child said, "I am freezing because I don't have a jacket." So she gave her her own jacket. The child begged for her petticoat, too, and she gave it to her.

At last she entered the woods.

It was quite dark, and here she wanted to sleep.

But when she was about to fall asleep, she saw another little child. The child was almost naked and was going to die with cold. The good child thought to herself, "It is quite dark now, and no one will see me."

So she took off all her clothes, and covered the poor little shivering child with them, and went away. Now this pious child had nothing left in the world at all.

When she began to cover herself with the fallen leaves, suddenly a golden shower fell around her from heaven.

At first she thought that the stars were falling.

But when the drops reached the ground, they were real gold coins. As she stood still under that golden shower, she found that she was covered from head to foot with warm and fine clothes. She gathered up the gold coins, carried them away, and was rich for the rest of her life.  

从前有一位可怜的小女孩。她的爸爸妈妈都去世了，而她非常穷。

她没有地方可住。甚至没有一张床可躺着。

渐渐地她的衣服全破掉了。除了一片面包外她没有其它东西可吃。虽然如此，她还是很善良虔诚。虽然她被全世界所遗弃，但是她仍相信上帝会照顾她，于是她走到田野祷告求上帝帮助她。

当她沿着路走时，遇见一位可怜人。他对她说：『请给我点东西吃吧，因为我好饿。』

她马上把所有的面包给了他并说：『这是上天送来给你的。』他接过去后，她便走开了。

不久她看到一个小孩坐在路旁。那小孩正在哭泣。当她经过时，那孩子大声叫道：『哦，我的头好冷，请给我点东西盖。』

这可怜的女孩马上脱下她的帽子给那个小孩。她继续走着，不久又碰到另一个小孩。这小孩说：『我快冻僵了，因为我没有外套穿。』所以她就把自己的外套给她。这小孩又向她要衬裙，她也给了她。

最后她来到树林里。

天色相当暗了，所以她想在这里就地而眠。

但是正当她即将入睡时，她看见另一个小孩。这小孩几乎是全裸着而且快要冷死了。这好心肠的女孩心想：『现在天很黑，没有人会看到我。』

于是她把身上所有的衣服脱下来，盖在那冷得发抖的可怜小孩身上后，便走开了。如今这虔诚的孩子在世上已经一无所有了。

当她开始用落叶盖在自己身上时，突然一阵金雨从天上降落在她周围。

起初她以为是星星掉下来了。

但是当雨点掉到地面上时，它们竟是真的金币。当她静静地站在金雨下时，她发现自己从头到脚都穿著温暖而且质料很好的衣服。她拾起金币带走，从此她一生都过着非常富裕的生活。
