第一个女人

The first woman's name was Pandora. She was made in heaven. Every god gave something to her. Aphrodite gave her beauty, Apollo gave her music, and she got good things from the other gods.

　　Pandora was sent to the earth and was presented to Epimetheus. He gladly received the beautiful woman. But Prometheus said that Epimetheus had to be careful with Zeus' gift.

　　Epimetheus had a box in his house. It was filled with harmful things. And he said to Pandora, "Don't lift the lid of the box."

　　But one day Pandora lifted the lid to see what was inside. Then many bad things such as sickness, plagues, envy, and spite leaped out of the box.

Pandora quickly put the lid back on, but too late. All the harmful things were already out. Only one thing lay at the bottom of the box. That was hope.

　　As long as we have hope, we can live with the bad things of this world.

　　第一个女人名叫潘多拉。她是在天庭被创造的。每位神都给她一样东西。雅弗罗黛提赋与她美丽，太阳神阿波罗则给她音乐，而她还从其它的神那儿得到许多好东西。

　　潘多拉被派到人间送给伊比米修斯。他欣然收下这位美丽的女人。但普罗米修斯却说伊比米修斯必须小心天神宙斯送来的这个礼物。
　　伊比米修斯的家里有一个箱子，里面充满了有害的东西。他对潘多拉说：『千万不可以打开这个箱子的盖子。』

　　但有一天，潘多拉打开盖子看看里面有什么东西。剎时，许多祸害诸如疾病、瘟疫、嫉妒和怨恨全都从箱子里跑了出来。
　　潘多拉迅速地把盖子盖回去，但太迟了。所有有害的东西都已经跑出来了。只有一样东西还躺在箱底，那就是『希望』。

　　只要有『希望』，我们就能活在这充满祸害的世界。
