狐狸和乌鸦

One day a crow stole a piece of cheese, and flew with it to a branch of a tree. Just then a fox came along and caught sight of the crow. "I would like to eat that piece of cheese," he said to himself.

　　After thinking for a little while, he said to the crow, "Oh, what a beautiful bird you are! I've never seen such beautiful feathers! If your voice is as charming as your feathers, you must be the Queen of the Birds."

　　The crow was very glad to hear the fox speak well of her like this, and wanted to show that her voice was more beautiful than her feathers. So she cawed. But as soon as she opened her beak, the cheese fell down. At that moment the fox jumped upon it. As the fox began to run away with it, he called out, "Your voice is fine, indeed,but your brain is not."

　　有一天，一只乌鸦偷到了一片奶酪，衔着它飞到一棵树的枝头上。就在那时一只狐狸来了，也看到那只乌鸦。他自言自语地说：『我想吃那片奶酪。』
　　想了一会儿以后，他就对乌鸦说：『哦，妳是一只好美丽的鸟儿啊！我从来都没看过这么漂亮的羽毛！如果妳的声音和妳的羽毛一样迷人的话，妳一定是鸟中之后了。』

　　那只乌鸦听到狐狸这样赞美她，心里很高兴，于是便想要证明她的声音更胜于她的羽毛。因此她就叫了起来。但她一张开嘴巴，那奶酪就掉下去了。那时，狐狸就跳起来抓住它。当狐狸带着奶酪要跑开时，他大声说道：『妳的声音还真不错，就是头脑差了点。』
