When the dwarfs found Snow White lying dead on the floor, they tried everything to bring her to life. But all was in vain. The poor girl was dead.

　　The dwarfs sat round her and wept for three whole days. Snow White looked like a living girl. So they said, "We cannot bury her in the dark ground. Let's make a coffin of clear glass and lay her in it. This way we can always be with her."

　　On the box they wrote her name in golden letters. Then the glass coffin was set upon the mountain. The birds and animals came and wept for Snow White.

　　For a long time Snow White lay in the glass coffin and never changed. She was still as white as snow, her lips were as red as blood, and her hair was as black as ebony.

　　One day the prince of a neighboring country happened to ride by and saw the coffin and beautiful Snow White in it. At once he fell in love with her and said to the dwarfs, "Let me have the coffin and I will give you anything you want."

　　But they told him that they couldn't. The prince said, "Please give it to me. I cannot live without looking at Snow White."

　　The dwarfs pitied him and gave him the coffin. The prince called his servants to carry it away. As they were going along with the coffin on their shoulders, the servants stumbled over a root. With the bump the bit of poisoned apple popped out of her throat. Soon she opened her eyes; she sat up, alive and well.

　　"Oh, dear! Where am I?" she cried. The prince answered joyfully, "You are near me. I ask you to come with me to my palace and be my bride."

　　Their wedding was held with great splendor. The wicked queen was also invited to the feast. She was dressed up and went to the mirror. Again she asked her usual question.

　　"Oh, queen, though you are very beautiful, the young bride is much more beautiful," replied the mirror.

　　She got wildly excited with anger. First she thought she would not go to the wedding, but she felt she could have no peace till she went and saw the bride.

　　When she saw her, she knew that the bride was Snow White. She was full of anger and terror. In a moment her shoes were turned into red-hot iron. And the queen had to dance till she fell down dead.

　　当小矮人发现白雪公主躺在地板上死去时，他们试尽各种方法要救活她，却徒劳无功。这可怜的女孩真的死了。

　　小矮人围坐在她身边，整整哭了三天。白雪公主看起来就像是个活生生的女孩。所以他们说：『我们不能把她埋在黑暗的地底。我们做个透明玻璃棺材，把她放在里面。这样我们就可以永远和她在一起了。』

　　他们用金色的字母将白雪公主的名字写在她的棺木上。然后玻璃棺材被安置在山顶上。鸟儿和动物都过来为她哭泣。

　　白雪公主躺在玻璃棺里已有好长一段时间，容貌却一点儿也没改变。她的肌肤还是和雪一样白，嘴唇还是和血一样红，头发还是像黑檀木一样黑。

　　有一天，邻国的王子碰巧骑马路过这里，看到了玻璃棺和躺在里面的白雪公主。王子马上就爱上了白雪公主，他对小矮人说：『让我拥有这个棺材，那幺你们要什幺，我都可以给你们。』

　　但小矮人告诉他说他们不能。王子就说：『请把它给我。看不到白雪公主，我就活不下去了。』

　　小矮人很同情王子，就把棺材给了他。王子于是召来仆人把棺材抬走。当仆人把棺材扛在肩上抬着走时，他们被树根绊倒了。因为这一撞，那一口毒苹果从白雪公主的喉咙迸了出来。不久她便张开眼睛；她坐了起来，充满了生气。

　　她叫道：『噢！这是哪里啊？』王子满心欢喜地回答：『你在我身边。我请你到我的皇宫来做我的新娘。』

　　他们举行了一个非常盛大的婚礼。邪恶的皇后也被邀请参加盛宴。她盛装走到魔镜前。她再一次地问着她的老问题。

　　魔镜回答说：『哦，皇后，虽然你很美丽，但年轻的新娘却更美。』

　　皇后气疯了。起初她不想去参加婚礼，但又觉得她要看到新娘后，才会甘心。

　　皇后看到新娘时，她便知道那是白雪公主。她又气又怕。转眼间，她的鞋子变成炽热的铁。而皇后必须一直跳舞，直到她倒下去死掉为止。
