Kathy and Evan go out for lunch.
K:I hope the hostel owner doesn't mind our going out for meals.
E:Who? Mrs. Van Helsing? She doesn't mind at all. In fact, she suggested we have lunch at a cafe near here.
K:That sounds sweet of her. Say, look at all the trees and flowers! It seems everyone grows flowers in Holland.
E:Well, Holland is famous for its tulips and windmills.
K:This is a cute restaurant. Let's go in here.
E:This is the place she suggested! The menu outside the door has lots of good dishes. Notice that almost everything is in Dutch and English?
K:Yeah. Why is that?
E:Mrs. Van Helsing was telling me that kids here learn English from primary school. Oh, by the way, you're paying for your lunch and I'm paying for mine. After all, while we're in the Netherlands, we should be going Dutch!
