Dear Richard,
It was good to hear from you. Everything’s going fine at work. My boss keeps me fairly busy, but since I enjoy the work, I don’t mind. I think I did the right thing moving out here to take this job, even though I’m a long way from my family and my old friends.
I’m glad to hear you’ll be coming out for a visit. I can meet you for dinner on the 22nd. If you want, I can also show you around on Saturday the 23rd. Aside from the main tourist sites like Hollywood and Disneyland, there are a lot of interesting places I can show you. Call me when you get into town and we’ll make arrangements.
