Dear Joyce,
I just arrived in New Delhi yesterday. During my last week in Nepal, I went to a town west of Katmandu which is very close to the Himalayas. It’s really incredible to be able to walk out of a hotel in the morning and see snow-covered, 25,000-foot high mountains. I can’t imagine what it would be like to climb one!
As I just mentioned, I flew into India yesterday. I haven’t had much time to look around yet, but one first impression I got was that this is a really crowded place. It’s not hard to believe that there are over a billion people in this country. This morning I went to the big mosque and fort in Old Delhi. They are pretty impressive. They had some great architects in those days.
I’ll be in India for two weeks, and then I’ll fly back to Bangkok. I’m looking forward to picking up your letter(s).
Sincerely,
Vincent
