Dear Harry,
Last fall you borrowed US$6,000 from me with the understanding that you would pay it back at the end of the year. But it is nearly February and I have yet to hear from you. I hope I am correct to presume that you have merely been delayed in repaying me.
Let me add that I am not really concerned about the interest you promised me. But I hope you can at least pay back the principal. If you are having financial difficulties, you can return the money in installments, but I would like to have it all by the end of June at the latest, and at least half of it by the end of February. I would like to give you more time, but I need the money myself.
Sincerely,
Timothy White
